Hotshot pickups and gooseneck trailers lined up in the yard
The Superior fleet

Every truck you need. One call.

Superior runs every truck smaller than a tractor: pickups, cargo vans, one-ton flatbeds, stakebeds, large stakebeds, box trucks with lift gates and gooseneck mini floats. When the load needs an 18-wheeler, sister company J.H. Walker Trucking runs it with the same dispatcher and the same paperwork.

The trucks

Sized to the load, not the biggest.

Each truck below is staged in Superior’s markets with local drivers. Tell dispatch what is moving and they send the one that fits, from a single part to a pipe load.

01 · Hotshot · expedite

Pickup hotshot

The fastest way to move a part, a pallet or a pipe load across the state. A pickup leaves from a truck already staged in your market and runs straight to the drop.

Best for the part a branch ran out of, the tool a crew is waiting on and the load that cannot wait for a freight truck.

The workhorse of distributor delivery. Reels, pipe, conduit and fixtures ride inside the stake sides, from the distribution center to the branch or the jobsite.

Best for daily branch routes and the dedicated programs that replace a distributor’s own stakebeds.

Large stakebed

Big-deck capacity for the jobsite loads that outgrow a standard stakebed. More room for long material and project orders in one trip.

Best for project deliveries, large jobsite drops and the days a branch order will not fit on one standard truck.

Mini float

Gooseneck flatbed for long pipe, steel and oversized loads, with no wait for an 18-wheeler. It runs like a hotshot, dispatched the same way.

Best for pipe to the yard or the rig, steel to a jobsite and equipment too long for a one-ton.

18-wheeler

Flatbed, drop deck and van loads run by sister company J.H. Walker Trucking. You call the same Superior dispatcher and get the same paperwork; the load just rides a tractor-trailer.

Best for full truckloads and anything bigger than a mini float. See J.H. Walker’s fleet.

Dispatch confirms the deck, the box size and the weight for your load on the call. Tell them the pieces, the weight and where it is going, and they send the truck that fits.

Not sure which truck?

Tell us the load. We pick the truck.

You do not have to know the truck. The quote form’s truck field starts on “Not sure? Recommend one”, and a dispatcher reads what you are moving and calls you with the right one.

Park your fleet. Run ours.

The same trucks can run as your own. In a dedicated program Superior supplies, drives, insures and maintains the trucks that replace your box trucks, stakebeds or tractors, and keeps your schedule and your routes.

Superior’s in-house fleet software helps right-size how many trucks you need, and the hotshot fleet backs up dedicated routes on peak days.

Fleet questions

Before you book.

What shippers ask about the trucks. Anything else, dispatch is up 24/7 at 713-688-1900.

What trucks does Superior run?

Pickup hotshots, cargo vans, one-ton flatbeds, stakebeds, large stakebeds, box trucks with lift gates and mini floats (gooseneck flatbeds). When a load needs an 18-wheeler, sister company J.H. Walker Trucking runs it with the same dispatcher and paperwork.

How much can each truck carry?

It depends on the truck and the load, so dispatch confirms the deck, the box size and the weight for your load on the call. Tell them the pieces, the weight and the pickup and delivery, and they send the truck that fits.

What if I don’t know which truck I need?

Pick “Not sure? Recommend one” on the quote form, or call dispatch. A dispatcher reads what you are moving and recommends the truck.

Do Superior’s trucks have lift gates?

Yes. Superior’s box trucks have lift gates for docks and curbs, so pallets come off where there is no dock.

Can Superior move hazmat?

Yes. Superior is hazmat certified, with placarded trucks and hazmat-endorsed drivers.

What happens when a load is too big for a hot shot?

A gooseneck mini float takes long pipe, steel and oversized loads. When it needs an 18-wheeler, J.H. Walker Trucking runs it on a flatbed, drop deck or van with the same dispatcher and paperwork.

Who maintains the trucks?

Superior does, in its own shop, on a preventive maintenance schedule that keeps trucks on the road and routes on time.

Not sure which truck? Ask.

Call dispatch with the pickup, the drop and what’s moving. They’ll send the truck that fits.
